£2,000 grants for the development of the Midlands region’s managers and leaders.

A funded initiative to develop the region’s managers and leaders – from line managers running teams right the way through to the Executives that need to build and lead organisations that can create opportunity in challenging times. 

A £2,000 grant is available for every manager and provides a significant contribution towards a suite of learning that’s matched exactly to their individual requirements.

Eligibility 

You can elect the delegates you wish to train and match them to the programmes you choose. However: 

  • The organisation must have no more than 50 employees in the UK. 
  • The organisation must operate primarily in the East Midlands or West Midlands regions (see below for details). 
  • No more than twelve grants are available to any one organisation.

The programmes

There are three programmes that are available. You can choose any mix of programmes. You can also choose programmes for unallocated delegates which is ideal if you’re recruiting for new managers.

The Professional Certificate of Learning in Team Management and Leadership at National Level 3 

This CPD programme provides the rudimentary standard of competency for all first-line managers. 

Highly effective managers understand how to balance the three main elements of their role: leadership, management and task. This programme ensures delegates understand how to use their skills to generate the best performance from the resources in their teams. 

Managers get to reflect on their challenges and opportunities, and consider how to make real and immediate workplace improvements.

The Professional Certificate of Learning in Senior Management and Leadership at National Level 4

This CPD programme is for managers who have to consider their role in the context of the wider organisation, lead through junior managers, or both. 

Managers attend a tailored mix of courses which provide a considered basis for success in roles which have impact on staff as well as external relationships such as customers or suppliers. 

The flexible course mix allows you to develop a group of managers to the right standard yet also offer each individual exactly the right development.

The Advanced Certificate of Learning in Organisational Management and Leadership at National Level 5

This CPD programme allows delegates to mix with other executives who are also challenging their decision-making around the three cornerstones of organisational success: defining strategy, achieving effective operational focus and shaping a culture throughout a management team that delivers the results you’ve defined. 

With three courses delivered over two consecutive days each, the programme is delivered in a way that allows busy leaders to balance the immersion in learning with the pace with which they want to complete the programme around their schedule. 

Courses can be delivered using our open courses (most popular and flexible) or using in-house delivery at your chosen venue (great for challenging a board when deciding on a new strategic direction).

Funding and registration can all be done over the phone – 0800 619 1230 – and there is no need to pay in full and reclaim – you just need to pay your contribution.  

Contributions fall due strictly at point of enrolment. 

 

The deadline for applications is 5.00pm Wednesday, 10 December 2025 unless the total fund is allocated in advance.
